The European Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded annually to youth-led projects that foster democracy, promote active citizenship and bring communities together. It celebrates the powerful work that young people do every day to shape a shared European identity and make a lasting impact on Europe’s future.
Organised jointly by the European Parliament and the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen, the prize recognises three outstanding European projects, awarding €7,500 for first place, €5,000 for second, and €2,500 for third.
Representatives from each of the 27 national winning projects are invited to a four-day trip to Aachen, Germany. The three winners also get the chance to visit the European Parliament in Brussels or Strasbourg, and one representative from each project will be offered a Schuman Traineeship.
If you are an EU resident aged 16–30 with a project that is making a difference in your community or beyond, apply for the European Charlemagne Youth Prize, and bring your project to the European stage!
