On October 20 the final ceremony of the EYE Online Award was held during
the EYE Network Meeting.
The entrepreneurs, previously shortlisted, pitched their business
achievements in front of the whole network, who later determined who the winner
was for each category, Young and Host Entrepreneur. The competition was fierce,
and the network had a hard time in making a choice, but in the end we found the
two winners!
The best Host entrepreneur of the year is Paulina Tsvetanova, from
Germany! She is the owner of PAULINA'S FRIENDS, Berlin's most extraordinary concept agency for art,
design & exclusive couture wearable art & sustainable fashion, the
"Serendipity Workshop".
In 2019, she decided to join the "Erasmus for Young
Entrepreneurs" program and host a fellow aspiring entrepreneur who worked
with her for 6 months. Paulina's expectations of the exchange were perfectly
met as she had the opportunity to work with a trained professional who was able
to develop growth strategies and work independently to implement various tasks.
They were able to share ideas, pass on knowledge of different working
practices, discuss plans and work towards their successful implementation. Working
with someone who had a similar understanding of running a business in the arts
gave Paulina the added confidence and encouragement to follow her intuition and
realize her artistic and entrepreneurial ambitions.
The best New entrepreneur of the year is Artjola Puja, from Albania!
She came up with an innovative idea in the digital health field, PT
Connect, a wearable medical device that allows patients to routinely monitor
blood clotting function and share the medical data with hospitals and clinics
via the mobile app for quick medical assessment by healthcare professionals.
Through EYE, she had the opportunity to learn and work on developing her
product prototype for 6 months while receiving feedback from her mentor Leo
Martinez in Munich. She went from a business plan to building a high-fidelity
prototype of PT Connect and is currently working with a research lab at the
University of Debrecen to test her prototype and develop a real product for the
digital health market very soon.
We thank all the finalists for each category; New entrepreneurs Claire
Petersen, Alexander de Caires, Petya Petkova and Filip Koprčina, and Host
entrepreneurs Leo Martinez and Evangelia Bakinta, and wish them all the best
for their future!
Finally, we warmly thank all the entrepreneurs
who took the time to send their applications for the competition; it was a
pleasure to see their participation and all their successful stories!
