Can an NE or HE from an EU outermost region participate in the programme?
Yes. The EU has nine outermost regions that are geographically distant from mainland Europe but remain an integral part of their respective EU Member States. In addition, there are 13 Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs), which have special links with certain Member States (Denmark, France, and the Netherlands).However, there is currently no local contact point for a Host Entrepreneur (HE) in one of these regions, except in the Canary Islands and Madeira. The HE and NE must be fully aware of this situation and agree to start the exchange under such circumstances. A short note in the agreement between the parties is recommended to avoid any dispute.
