Spanish entrepreneur Jordi Bufí Caballero had been running Neurotic, a web developing company, for the past ten years when he heard about the Erasmus programme. Jordi was keen to help new entrepreneurs understand the ins-and-outs of running an IT business as well as taking advantage of new fresh ideas, he could incorporate in his own company.Jean Pierre Galea, from Malta, was the first entrepreneur to participate in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme in May 2009. At the age of 25, Jean Pierre decided to start his own business, www.jpgalea.com, specialising in IT services and web design. Jean Pierre hoped the programme would provide him with valuable skills and know-how for the future of his business.
Jean Pierre learnt how to efficiently manage an IT business and how to face the daily challenges encountered when working on the internet and designing websites. During his stay, Jean Pierre attended conferences where he met other entrepreneurs working in the field of IT and communications as well as accompanying Jordi to two corporate events, where they met up with potential future clients. Jean Pierre spoke to inspiring entrepreneurs, which helped him gain the confidence necessary to thrive. Jean Pierre equally worked on translating Jordi’s marketing plan into English, to help his host entrepreneur promote Neurotic onto other European markets.
All knowledge acquired during the stay has undoubtedly proven to be very useful for Jean Pierre for the future of his business. Both entrepreneurs have kept in touch and are working together to create a new business collaboration. They hope to expand their activities in nearby countries in the next coming months.
