The programme is proud to announce the winners of the Entrepreneurs of the Year 2025 award! This year, we recognise two outstanding entrepreneurs whose dedication, innovation, and impact exemplify the spirit of the programme. 

Host Entrepreneur of the Year: Marco Filippi 

Founder of Volvero, Malta 

As the visionary behind Volvero, Marco Filippi is reshaping the mobility industry with his drive-sharing app that allows owners to share vehicles - cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles - with drivers in an efficient and sustainable way. By integrating AI-driven security measures, smart contracts, and built-in insurance, Volvero is making vehicle sharing more accessible, transparent, and safe. 

Marco first joined the programme as a new entrepreneur, eager to bring his business idea to life. After travelling to the UK and receiving mentorship from an experienced entrepreneur, he gained the knowledge and confidence to successfully launch his own company. Over the next years, Marco grew his business and inspired by his own experience, chose to give back by registering as a host entrepreneur.  

Through the EYE programme, Marco had the opportunity to mentor 3 new entrepreneurs since his registration as a host, including Marco Vettorazzo, a new entrepreneur working on AndrobathMed, an innovative medical device for men’s health. This dynamic collaboration resulted in a powerful exchange of expertise: while Marco guided the new entrepreneur on business strategy and investor attraction, he, in turn, gained fresh insights into financial models, cost optimisation, and emerging market trends. 

With the new entrepreneur’s expertise in finance and market analysis, Volvero’s five-year business plan was refined, opening new market opportunities in Northern Italy and Malta. The mentorship not only strengthened AndrobathMed’s growth strategy but also propelled Volvero’s expansion, proving that structured collaborations can drive lasting entrepreneurial success. 

Without the EYE programme, this beneficial exchange of knowledge, mentorship, and innovation would not have been possible. Marco’s experience highlights how entrepreneurial ecosystems thrive through structured partnerships, enabling businesses to scale, innovate, and leave a meaningful impact on the market.
