Period of exchange: 01/2021 until 05/2021
Duration of exchange: 4 months

Business sector of the exchange

Energy, fuel, electricity and other sources of energy, in particular renewable energy

MG Sustainable is a small company with a young, competent team led by Georgiana Maries. Since participating in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme, they have found that the young entrepreneurs they have taken on are highly motivated to invest their energy in their business and to learn. Moreover, their background can often be a real help in managing the company’s operations. Georgiana is happy to give them the opportunity to connect with other key players in the solar energy field. This was the case with Jacek Ławniczak, a Polish entrepreneur who founded Aqua-Sun Jacek Ławniczak, a company that offers consulting services in the field of environmental protection. He had the opportunity to have close contact with the company's board members and participate in the decision-making process. For him, the exchange was a fantastic opportunity to make international business contacts and learn some of the intricacies of running a business from a more experienced entrepreneur, which was invaluable to him. These two points were his main motivation to participate in the programme.

The aim of the exchange was to establish cross-border cooperation between Jacek and Georgiana that could be mutually beneficial. More specifically, the goal for the host entrepreneur was to share her previous entrepreneurial experience and to involve Jacek in the day-to-day business in order to provide him with insider knowledge in the solar industry. The new entrepreneur gained knowledge and skills in applying for grants for innovative solar solutions based on Georgiana's extensive experience. He also participated in business meetings with partner companies, research institutions and internal grant application meetings. He also provided input for the grant applications Georgiana's company is currently preparing.

The cross-border cooperation was beneficial to both parties. Georgiana shared her previous entrepreneurial experience and involved Jacek in daily business activities to provide him with insider knowledge in the solar industry and consulting business. Jacek conducted a market analysis of the renewable energy sector in Poland for the host entrepreneur, based on his own experience in the field. During the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs exchange in Sweden, he was able to gain in-depth knowledge and experience in preparing applications for R&D projects, especially in the field of solar solutions, based on the host entrepreneur's extensive experience. He had the opportunity to participate in business activities and in the preparation of applications for co-financing for projects in the field of innovative solar solutions. The combination of the knowledge gained offers the potential for joint projects - joint EU funding applications in the field of environment and renewable energy.
