The HE Mr GEORGIOU is a young businessman from Nicosia in Cyprus who runs Salon Motel and decided to participate in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme to share his knowledge and expertise in a highly competitive and demanding sector. His main target was to gain an external perspective on the business and get feedback on how to improve his work, as well as develop new project ideas and activities with the NE. The NE Mr.Nicola Rachiele, a young professional from Simbario, in the Italian region of Calabria, is a very hard worker deeply committed and keen to learn and study. His dream was to work as a hairdresser and open a salon. Nicola was keen to be supported and mentored by an experienced entrepreneur to hone his skills in his sector, make more of an impact on the local environment and improve his standard of living. He wanted to gain a broader understanding of hair and fashion trends and learn new hair cutting techniques to also improve his advertising and marketing for his business.

The NE received training in all aspects related to the business of Angelos, the HE, from the management aspects of the salon to the more operational aspects. The NE and the HE worked together to share concepts related to the business operations and business units, also comparing the Italian and Cypriot markets. They focused on hair handling, cutting and coloring techniques, health and safety in the workplace and finally on sales and the commercial side of the business, paying attention to relationships with clients and suppliers.

Angelos and Nicola had the opportunity to expand their own personal networks and compare two markets (with their similarities and differences). They had the opportunity to discuss hair and fashion trends and share hair cutting techniques. Nicola was able to improve their advertising and marketing skills and gain a broader understanding of the management aspects of a salon. On the other hand, Angelos had the chance to gain a new perspective on his business and work on its online presence.
