Yuri Calliandro is a journalist and corporate and product communications expert, specializing in press and public relations management. After many years of experience in Milan in leading national companies, in 2010 he founded in Venice Studio Calliandro Comunicazione, a communication agency that offers a complete media relations service aimed at developing the overall management of relations with the media through a wide range of the press office tools. He was contacted by Sandra Grabowska, a Young Entrepreneur from Poland who had just founded Louie,a lingerie brand based on the long Polish tailoring tradition and respect for the environment.

Yuri and Sandra began their exchange on November 16,2020. Sandra was interested in learning about the mechanisms of media as a strategic element in expanding her business, so she invited him to apply to the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme as a Host Entrepreneur. Her goal was to expand Louie in the Italian market, commonly considered as one of the most advanced in the fashion industry. Yurion the other hand, wanted to expand his area of expertise and learn about the dynamics related of the fashion industry - a field he had never worked in before.

Despite the obvious difficulties Covid presented to retail, they successfully created and followed an adequate plan to make their exchange effective. As a result Sandra and her business gained additional visibility and she learnt how to use the right communication tools; she also found inspiration for Louie’s new summer collection thanks to Venice’s signature colours and architecture. In addition Yuri, expanded his network and gained new contacts with journalists from fashion newspapers. They will be a great resource for his future clients who will need his help in this field.
