Recent testimonies of successful business networking - Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme
Period of exchange: 08/2013 until 10/2013
Duration of exchange: 2 months
The exchange helped avoid the pitfalls when starting up my business
Gerry Delaney has been working with entrepreneurs for the last 20 years both on venture capital-related issues and through training and consultancy programmes. In 2007, Gerry opened a Kendlebell franchise in Dublin offering virtual office services to small businesses. Gerry was contacted in 2013 by Muriel Rodde a French new entrepreneur seeking to open an online company offering secretariat services targeting English people in west of France.
During the exchange, Muriel learned new marketing techniques, had tips and tricks on the pitfalls to avoid during the starting up phase and built up databases of potential French clients and partners for Kendlebell.
The experience allowed Gerry to expand his customer base and range of services as well as offering an opportunity for him to build business relationships abroad. During her stay in Ireland, Muriel learned new marketing techniques and built up a database of potential French clients and partners for Kendlebell. Muriel became well placed to get her business up and running while Kendlebell gained a partner on the ground who can assist them in dealing with the French market.
