Gonzalo Palomo is PHD Veterinary Medicine professional working on organic farming and organic milk cow production. He is creating with other experts in biological agriculture the Cooperative Actyva as a network of professionals serving SMEs and farmers to add value to agribusiness sector. rnGonzalo had clear learning goals and a specific organisation in mind to learn from: After hearing about the EYE programme he got in touch with Dr Bruce Pearce from The Organic Research Center (ORC) and proposed him to be his Host Entrepreneur. This organisation is a private research and development centre based in Newbury UK with more than 20 years of experience on training research and development in organic farming and agriculture. Both entrepreneurs found on the EYE Programme a good chance to collaborate and benefit from each others expertise. rn

For Gonzalo the main goal was to learn about general organisation of the ORC good practices and the way they combine their research activity with technology transfers training and direct work with farmers and stakeholders. rnThe stay at ORC was a great opportunity for both participants to make contacts and networking with other professionals and specialist. Bruce was keen to benefit from Ne expertise on organic milk production and the treatment of diseases in cows with alternative medicine. rnGonzalo contributed with the centre in the promotion of their activity translation of research papers as well as field research and training. He participated on July 2013 in the Organic Farmers Conference organised by the host organisation and that was a great chance for Networking with British and Worldwide agribusiness stakeholders .rn

Actyva Coop is today a reality and the group is about to register. They have been promoting their activity through workshops creative videos and meetings. They start building a community around and are already putting their services and mission into practice. rnGonzalo wrote some scientific papers and got ORC supervision in a master thesis about grass management in dehesa/montado environment in Portugal and Spain as a tool for ecosystem restoration. He wrote articles about ORC activity joint projects and agro-food market in the UK besides organising workshops and seminars for farmers in Spain.rnThe partnership was a great success for both parts. Gonzalo learned a lot and was also very helpful inputting into the Organic Research Centre´s work and engaging with the livestock team.rn
