Ginés Plazas Sobrinos (NE), a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, learned about the programme through a friend’s recommendation. This suggestion encouraged him to carry out his exchange in Berlin, which he saw as a unique opportunity to gain international experience in an entrepreneurial context.

His Host Entrepreneur (HE) was Alejandro Sánchez, who currently manages an engineering office in Berlin. Alejandro discovered the programme through a relative who had previously participated in it and encouraged him to join, as he was looking for a collaborator to work with.

From the perspective of the New Entrepreneur, the main objective of the exchange was to expand his knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, particularly at a business level, with the future goal of establishing his own technical office.

On the other hand, the Host Entrepreneur was seeking someone with whom he could cooperate and share professional knowledge.

During the programme, Ginés Plazas Sobrinos carried out activities such as designing electrical installations, performing lighting calculations, and creating both 2D and 3D plans. For these tasks, he worked closely with his Host Entrepreneur (HE), receiving guidance on how to prepare and present technical documents to clients, while also sharing his own knowledge in informatics, an area in which his HE had less experience.

Another important aspect of the exchange was visiting the sites where future projects would take place. These visits allowed him to learn from the explanations provided by his HE, as well as from conversations with the architects involved.

Finally, special mention goes to the project presentation meetings organised by the HE, where strategies for approaching projects more effectively were shared. These sessions not only helped Ginés improve his technical and business skills but also offered valuable insights into managing a company as the number of projects increases

From the perspective of the New Entrepreneur, the programme enabled his participation in approximately twelve projects, which expanded his technical knowledge and helped him acquire key business skills. He contacted several companies, gaining valuable experience in client relations and project management. Site visits also offered the opportunity to analyse components directly on site.

Among the business knowledge acquired, he highlighted time management to ensure timely project delivery, optimal task distribution among employees, and clear communication with clients to report progress or changes.

From the perspective of the Host Entrepreneur, the programme allowed him to further develop his training skills and gain insights into different markets and the perspectives they offer. Overall, this experience provided him with a broader vision and a deeper understanding of the industry, which he considers highly valuable for his professional development.
