Event organisation

I’m Anna, an entrepreneur from Latvia. For several years I was organizing children’s sports international events — including master classes, tournaments, and camps in hockey and football. At first, it was mostly like a hobby but over time I realized that I want to organize a wider variety of events professionally: workshops, corporate team-buildings, networking events, concerts etc. In addition to event planning, I have always been passionate about sales, digital marketing and promotion in social media. About a year ago I founded my own company, SIA Pro Agency, and started developing it in the fields of event management, digital marketing, and online product creation. My mentor is Maksim Mihhaljov, the founder of DiscoEvent Agency in Estonia, with 14 years of experience in the entertainment industry. His company specializes in organizing large-scale entertainment events, parties, artist performances, and concerts.

During the exchange, I participated in organizing more than ten events — including parties, corporate celebrations, concerts (including one large international concert tour for famous artist). I handled communication with venues, artists, and contractors, managed bookings and logistics and contributed to creating promotional materials. I also helped develop social media content, set up marketing strategies, built an influencer database and explored paid advertising options. In addition, I independently organized a New Year's event for a state-owned company under the mentor’s supervision — including participation in the official procurement, quiz design and finding a host. This became a key part of my practical experience. My mentor shared valuable insights on event management, guided me through key planning stages and entrusted me with real responsibilities. As a result I gained practical skills that I’m already applying in my own company.

Through the programme I not only gained new skills in organizing various types of events, but also significantly strengthened my communication and organisation abilities. My mentor introduced me to his team and together we worked on multiple projects. I found his experience in building and managing a team particularly valuable, as this is highly relevant for the current stage of development in my own business. Together we developed and began testing new marketing strategies, including paid advertising through Meta platforms and collaborations with influencers. We created a database of potential bloggers for future campaigns and started exploring how to implement artificial intelligence — both for content creation and process automation. These tools are already being introduced into both of our businesses. The exchange proved to be mutually beneficial.
