Business sector of the exchange

Running a diving centre

The participants are Silvia Pérez, a young entrepreneur focused on marketing and business development, and Mick Bosman, the host entrepreneur running the dive center in Curacao. Silvia decided to participate in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme to gain international hands-on experience, learn from Mick’s expertise and develop practical strategies for client engagement and business growth for her own future venture, a company offering  flexible and customizable diving experiences. Mick joined to share his knowledge, explore new ideas for marketing and customer experience, and benefit from fresh perspectives to improve his business operations. The expected benefits for Silvia included mentorship, practical learning and experience in managing customer relationships and marketing campaigns. Mick gained a lot from the exchange: innovative insights, collaborative development of strategies, and enhancement of his business processes with Silvia’s support.

Silvia worked closely with Mick at his dive center observing daily operations analyzing customer behavior and co-developing marketing strategies. Together they created newsletters, social media campaigns and visual content to attract and retain clients. Silvia also proposed new initiatives, such as post-dive follow-ups, a digital logbook and themed packages. Mick provided mentorship, guidance and feedback throughout, while both collaborated on improving customer experience and promoting the center’s eco-friendly values. Their relationship was based on mutual learning: Silvia applied her marketing knowledge and Mick shared practical business insights, creating a dynamic hands-on environment for experimentation and growth.

Through this exchange, Silvia gained hands-on experience in running a diving business - from client analysis to creating marketing content, which gives her a clear idea of how to implement similar strategies in her own future venture. Mick benefited from Silvia’s fresh perspective and creative ideas, which sparked new approaches in customer engagement and promotion. Both expanded their professional networks, meeting local collaborators, suppliers and industry contacts, which opens doors for future partnerships and joint projects. The skills and insights gained provide a foundation for ongoing collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovative initiatives in their respective entrepreneurial paths.
