Education and IT

Samantha Chia, the NE,  is an Italian language teacher with a deep passion for sharing the richness of Italian culture through language. She applied to the EYE programme eager to grow her business and gain practical guidance from a mentor to further develop her language school, combining language learning with cultural immersion.

Ben Rajnovič, the HE, has over a decade of experience in web development, print and web design, and IT management, and joined the programme not only to share his experience and expertise, but also to further enrich his own professional journey.

Throughout the exchange, they worked on the key features of the Italian courses to be offered online through the platform. The host provided valuable technical expertise, while the new entrepreneur shared her vision for the learning experience. Together, they outlined the necessary technology stack and created a detailed roadmap.

Course modules, lessons, and multimedia content were developed, along with wireframes and mockups for the platform, applying UX design principles to ensure consistency and engagement. The learning management system was set up and beta content uploaded, allowing them to test key functionalities and progress tracking. They also worked on promotional activities using SEO, social media, and email marketing techniques.

During the exchange, the new entrepreneur was able to design and organise a complete curriculum, including audio quizzes and written exercises. This process helped her understand how to structure content in a way that effectively supports learning and keeps students engaged. She also learned how to upload and update content, manage lessons, and troubleshoot basic technical issues, which gave her a strong sense of independence.

Thanks to her mentor, she gained valuable knowledge in SEO and digital marketing, developing a strategy that improved the platform’s online visibility. With a clearer understanding of online learning and digital communication, she was able to refine the presentation and promotion of her services.

At the same time, the host entrepreneur developed a fully user-centred online platform tailored for educational purposes, which is key for future business opportunities. He also gained valuable mentoring experience and practical application of SEO and digital marketing strategies within a language education context, further strengthening his portfolio in educational marketing
