Results and benefits
Laurène is a 2D artist with a strong passion for visual creation in all its forms, and her work reflects an insatiable curiosity and creative versatility. She runs Cartouk and has collaborated on a wide range of projects, from designing assets for indie productions to creating visuals for cultural institutions, developing a unique and adaptable artistic approach. She joined the EYE programme to strengthen her personal brand and broaden her professional perspective, while consolidating her entrepreneurial skills and developing essential management and communication competencies.
The Host Entrepreneur, Nicola, runs Chaosmonger, a multimedia production company. He applied to the programme seeing it as a unique opportunity to enrich his creative work with fresh perspectives and specialised skills. Eclectic and forward-thinking within the entertainment industry, he is enthusiastic about welcoming the dynamism and creativity that young entrepreneurs bring to his projects. He firmly believes in the power of knowledge exchange, and this reciprocal learning process lies at the core of his motivation to participate.
The project focused on sharing skills and experience in the independent video game creation sector. Pixel Art represented an additional and key asset in the development of gaming projects. The NE and the HE worked closely together on pixel art for the video games Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior and MIGHTY 1990, as well as on 2D icons for the video game Dead Planet.
The exchange provided a valuable opportunity to compare French and Estonian market opportunities across borders, as well as their respective performance in the creative and technology sectors. It also contributed to a better understanding of trends in video game creation, effective gameplay development, and concept materialisation.
The Host Entrepreneur benefited from the NE’s innovative approach and fresh perspective in creating assets for the video games mentioned above. Through this collaboration, new techniques were acquired, valuable skills were developed, and a deeper understanding of the indie video game industry, particularly in the area of pixel art asset creation was gained.
For the New Entrepreneur, the exchange enabled her to improve her graphic research techniques and deepen her understanding of video game environments through intensive work on pixel art. Thanks to the joint work with the Host Entrepreneur, she also expanded her skills as a concept artist by incorporating animation techniques into her creative practice.
