Results and benefits
This collaboration, part of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) program, brought together Cactus Almeraya—an established business in Spain—and a New Entrepreneur (NE) aiming to develop an orchid-related venture. During the exchange, the NE gained hands-on experience in running a plant business, from supply management to marketing strategies. Cactus Almeraya, in turn, benefited from fresh ideas and a broader international perspective.
The collaboration resulted in tangible outcomes, including business plan development, website creation, and expanded industry connections across Spain, Lithuania, and the Netherlands. Beyond business, both parties engaged in cultural exchange and built lasting professional relationships, paving the way for future cooperation.
For Cactus Almeraya, a marketing campaign promoted its new website and boosted sales during the Christmas and spring seasons. Actions included increasing social media visibility, improving the website’s user experience, and reinforcing key messages around sustainability, ecological production, water conservation, and packaging recycling. Blog content was also translated and optimized for SEO.
For Orchidėjų Laboratorija, efforts focused on defining the scope and target audience of the future online orchid shop, and developing a business plan that evolved into educational seminars, workshops, and online classes. The entrepreneur visited orchid nurseries to learn best practices and created a website to attract leads. A promotional plan using Canva was prepared, and two partnerships were established: one with MokymaiPro.lt (an online training provider), and another with TAU University, which hosted six paid workshops aimed at elderly education.
For Cactus Almeraya, social media followers doubled, strengthening the brand’s online presence. A renewed vision led to two successful marketing campaigns (Christmas and spring), and the website was updated with new products, blog posts, and SEO-optimized content, including a French translation. A potential future collaboration also emerged from the exchange.
For Orchidėjų Laboratorija, the NE developed a business plan with guidance from Cactus Almeraya’s founders and gained hands-on experience managing a plant shop. She connected with three key suppliers: an orchid grower and a cactus nursery in Spain, and an orchid supplier in the Netherlands. Additionally, she created her website: https://orchidejulaboratorija.lt/. The experience also provided cultural enrichment, fostering friendships and paving the way for future collaborations with Marta and Isaac.
A video where they share their experience was create.
