New entrepreneur Gisela Díaz López described her Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs exchange as the best entrepreneurial experience one can have. She learned about the EYE programme through social media, and the opportunity came at just the right time for her, when she was taking a career break due to her recent maternity and the Covid 19 pandemic. During her stay at the Uxio Novoneyra Foundation with the host entrepreneur Uxío Novo Rey, she was welcomed with open arms by the entire team and had the opportunity to learn about the work of an association that carries out cultural and tourism projects. For this reason, Gisela considered the stay an opportunity for personalized and quality mentoring.

According to Gisela, the experience has enabled her to connect with many European representatives through FUN. Her host entrepreneur and the whole team supported her at all times and integrated her in their activities, so it was a total immersion in the inner workings of the most international institution in the north of Spain, and of course she also had the opportunity to share her contacts and experiences, which she says was a benefit. It was very valuable to learn about the internal workings of the structure, the management model and the expertise of her host entrepreneur, so all her expectations for this period were met, for which she can only be grateful.

Gisela has built up an excellent relationship with Uxio and the entire team at the Foundation, with whom she will continue to enjoy collaborating in the future. Furthermore, through the projects and activities carried out, she has been able to establish around 100 contacts with other institutions and cultural workers, for example at the Festival dos Eidos, which brings together numerous artists and cultural agents. On the other hand, she had the great opportunity to carry out a digitisation course organised by the EU, called Digitraining, aimed at museum and cultural institution staff, which also resulted in a large number of contacts among colleagues and teachers. During her stay, Gisela was able to improve her skills, acquire new tools and learn from the Foundation's management model, which will be very valuable for her future plans. Especially important for her were the skills she brought back in operations, marketing and new technologies in the cultural sector. Gisela became a consultant for cultural programmes directly after the exchange and started her own business. Both the new and the host entrepreneur increased their turnover, the former by creating an event thanks to the contacts she made during the exchange, and the latter by entering into an agreement with the Galician Association of Performing Arts Company (Escena Galega) for technical assistance in setting up a cross-border network for the exchange of performing arts events with Northern Portugal, thanks to the support of Gisela.
